2-string Slide Bass, Fretless bass, standard bass for $150

Please be aware that I don't play fusion or jazz. A great musician knows when NOT to play, when to let the song breathe. It isn't about filling your part with notes. Its about the sum of the parts.

My bass playing is rooted in music of the late-70's and early-80's post-punk, New Romantic, and art rock genres. Bands such as Japan, Duran Duran, and Roxy Music are what made me want to be a bassist.

My fretless playing is also heavily influenced by ethnic music. Often atonal, making use of open strings, drones, and percussive tapping and strumming on the neck.

The 2-string slide bass was made famous by Mark Sandman, the late front man of 90's Low Rock trio, Morphine. After Mark's passing I began collaborating with Morphine saxophonist Dana Colley, and original Morphine drummer Jerome Deupree, in the bands Bourbon Princess, and A.K.A.C.O.D.. Over the past 25 years I've developed my own style of slide bass playing that is very different from Mark's, more suited for Desert Rock than Low Rock. Instead of using flat wound strings, I use rounds for more grit and tone. I use different tuning and different pickups, overall giving me more of an edgy rock sound, rather than leaning blues or jazz. My playing in the duo Alien Knife Fight is a good example.

I record direct to protools. I have 3 Kubicki Factor fretless basses, $ 2-string slide basses (in different tunings), and a custom fretted jazz bass. I typically only send dry tracks. Please let me know if you want dry and wet tracks.
