-------------------------------------------- "It all starts and ends with the song." -------------------------------------------- My name is Chris Murray, I am the owner/operator of Southern Transplant Recording in Nashville, TN and that is the motto with which I conduct my life and my business.

And that is exactly what I bring to the table when you ask for my help in bringing your project to life.

I grew up surrounded by music and I cut my teeth traveling the midwest playing in everything from folk-pop to hardcore punk bands until I finally relocated here to Nashville, TN with nothing more than I could fit in my rust-silver Volkswagen. Since then I've turned what was little more than a dream and a willingness to learn into a career and a collection of stories that I could have never imagined.

Allow me the chance to bring some of that same dedication, passion, and Nashville flavor to your next project or song. I am in love with the process of bringing a raw piece of music or idea to it's full form and nothing makes me more excited than to hear something at its most basic, and to know just how great it can be.

I have been playing guitar for 21+ years and recording music, mixing, and songwriting for the last 16. However, this is what separates me from everyone else here: whether it be laying down guitars/bass/drums/etc., I know I will not always be the perfect match for your song (and neither will they.) But I guarantee I know who is and how to get them, and that is the difference I bring. It all starts with the song, get that wrong and nothing else matters.

Mixing/Producing/Writing/Playing, allow me to help make the difference between good and great.
