ABOUT ME:

I am a professional recording artist, performing musician, and music instructor (guitar, bass, piano) based in San Francisco. I have authored a number of music instruction books, including A Guitarist's Guide to Improvising With Knowledge (2013), Essentials of Rhythm Guitar (2016), Speed, Accuracy, and Technique for Guitar (2013), and Speed, Accuracy, and Technique for Bass (2015). With a degree in Jazz Performance and over 20 years of performing/recording experience, I am comfortable in a wide variety of musical genres, including rock, pop, jazz, country, funk and classical. I can supply you with both lead guitar and rhythm guitar tracks, and am happy to incorporate different playing styles such as fingerpicking and slide playing.

THIS SERVICE:

This service is for tracks up to 5 minutes in length, and will include 1 guitar track to fit the song. This can be electric, acoustic, lead, or rhythm, or combined. You will receive 1 amp/eq/fx guitar tracks, and 1 clean direct tracks (in case you want to reamp).

All I need from you is a track (without requested guitars) and any references you may have to what you want your guitar parts to sound like. If you are not sure, then leave it to me to absorb your music and compose the ideal guitar parts for your song.

MY GEAR:

I use a concise list of guitars, record all tracks clean into Presonus Studio One Pro, my preferred DAW. I then clean the tracks as needed with Melodyne, add EQ, amps, and effects via my Line 6 Helix Native plug-in.

Why do I use this method instead of live amps and mics? Because if you like everything except the guitar tone, or the amount of drive or chorus or delay in the track, I can easily refine the track to your requested parameters. I can then send it back to you so you can have the exact sound that you want. That's my 100% guarantee.
