Trumpet, Brass, and Horn Section Tracks by NY Studio Musician/Arranger for $150
I've recorded with bands like Chairlift and rapper Mac Miller, have appeared in numerous performances with stars like Jon Lithgow, Josh Groban, and Kristen Chenowith, and recorded for countless singles, short films, and video games.
I use a Barkley Microphones Infinity ribbon microphone; an ideal choice for brass and wind instruments, evocative of a Royer R121 or AEA 440. I've tried them all and honestly this is my favorite microphone to use for trumpet. My preamp/interface is a Zoom TAC-2, and that runs direct to Logic Pro X. Happy to record at the bit depth and sample rate of your choosing.
As a trumpet player, I play lead (high notes), and improvised solos as well. I can use different mouthpieces to create any trumpet sound from a pillowy, intimate texture, to a bright, sizzling, Cuban-style sound. I'm down to get creative with effects, too, if you're looking for something unique. I do a fair amount of composition and arranging as well, so if you're not sure where the project is going I'm happy to work with you on that for an extra fee, all the way up to using a horn section, or even a full big band, if that's what it takes.
