Vintage 60s & 70s Bass Guitar | McCartney-Inspired for $100
Looking for the warm, melodic bass sounds of the 1960s and 1970s? I'd love to bring them to your recording!
I've been playing and recording music since the 1970s, with over 20 years of live performance experience. I'm also a songwriter and producer who has released original music and worked on independent recording projects for other artists.
My bass playing is primarily influenced by Paul McCartney. I grew up learning his bass lines by ear, and his melodic, inventive approach has shaped my playing ever since. I also admire Dee Murray, John Paul Jones, and Carol Kaye.
I specialize in playing with a pick and flatwound strings, delivering the warm, articulate tones that helped define classic rock and pop.
**MY BASS COLLECTION**
You're welcome to choose your instrument:
- Höfner 500/1 Beatle Bass
- Höfner Club Bass
- Rickenbacker 4003
- Phantom Teardrop Bass
- Fender Precision Bass
- Fender Bass VI
I primarily use La Bella flatwound strings for authentic vintage character.
**MY APPROACH**
I believe a great bass line should serve the song. I listen carefully to the drums, vocals, and other instruments, finding the right space for the bass. My parts often begin simply and develop melodically as the song progresses.
I enjoy approaching original music with fresh ears, but I'm equally comfortable following specific direction.
I record in Logic Pro using professional equipment and vintage-style processing, including Waves Abbey Road plug-ins.

**MY GOAL**
I'm not simply looking to follow root notes. I enjoy finding the melody and movement within a song, creating a bass part that becomes an integral part of the arrangement. Sometimes that means keeping things simple; other times, it means adding something more adventurous.
Whether you have a specific part in mind or give me creative freedom, my goal is to make your song better.
