I’m Kevin Ambrogi, mastering and mixing engineer and founder of 747 Mastering Studio in Brussels.

I’m also a musician, and that shapes the way I master: I start with what the music is trying to say, not with a preset or a target loudness. My job is to bring out the character already present in your mix — improving depth, punch, balance, clarity and translation while keeping the identity of the record intact.

Your mix leaves the digital domain and passes through a carefully selected analog mastering chain built around high-end hardware including Neve, Teletronix LA-2A, Pultec-style EQ, API, Crane Song, SPL and other dedicated mastering processors, with Prism conversion.

I combine analog processing with precise digital editing, quality control and final limiting where appropriate. Every master is approached individually and every decision is made by ear.

BEFORE I START

I listen to your mix first. If I hear something that would be better corrected in the mix rather than forced during mastering, I’ll tell you before processing it.

My goal isn’t simply to make your track louder. It’s to make it feel finished — with the weight, movement, tone and impact the music calls for.
