Any MP3, any song on the radio, any song on a cd or on vinyl has been through mastering. Mastering is the very last audio process of an audio piece after mixing.

There are 2 main goals when mastering songs for an album:
- To correct mix balance issues, to balance sonic elements of a stereo mix and optimize playback across all systems and media formats.
- To unify the sound of a record, maintain consistency across an album, and prepare it for distribution.

I started as a sound engineer in the 2000s and have mastered for the past 5 years. Prior to mastering I do a mix appraisal and send you my remarks about the mix(es) and what to expect from the mastering process, if applicable. You can have 2 revisions of the master if needed.

I can deliver a high-resolution MP3, a WAV file at 16 Bits (for a CD) or 24 Bits (for videos) or all of them, according to your needs.

NB: Please note that a mix has to be fairly balanced in order to master a song with professional results. In the case of very unbalanced or insufficient mixes, the mastering process can only partially correct the mixing errors. In other words mastering is not a substitute for mixing. But if we start with a good mix, mastering will magnify the song.
A good goal for a mix is to sound as close as possible in balance, color and energy to how you want it to sound in the end.
