Nate Mondschein is an award-winning songwriter, producer, engineer, multi-instrumentalist, and the owner of Echo Base Production, a full service music production company based out of Western Massachusetts specializing in Pop, Folk, Rock, Hip-Hop, and R&B.

Across a decade-plus, Nate's ear for creative melody, emotionally evocative lyrics, and compellingly quirky arrangements have allowed him to work alongside a diverse array of musical groups, from the pop powerhouse of Camille Trust and Raycee Jones to the post-punk psychadelia of Old Flame to the neo-indie-fusion-soul of The Rooks to the indie-hip-hop of Josh The Word, He also continues to produce music as a solo artist under the moniker Best Mann.

With every Echo Base production, Nate brings a passion for emotive, emotionally authentic performance, a drive to create and manipulate compelling analog sounds in a modern context, an ear for creative yet catchy arrangements, an encyclopedic catalog of musical references to draw upon and incorporate in an innovative way, and an unending commitment to the pocket.

In 2019, Nate was awarded the ASCAP Robert Allen Award for his songwriting and production work with Camille Trust. Nate and Echo Bases’ music and projects have been featured in a variety of publications, including The New Yorker, Afropunk, Okayplayer, The Deli Magazine, and many more.
