I’m The Prairie Chad — Alberta country songwriter and working one-man show. I write originals people can sing without wincing: bar rooms, bad marriages, sobriety, leaving town, the thing you should’ve said two years ago.

If you want a glossy “truck / beer / Friday night” Mad Lib, I’m not your guy. If you want a song that tells the truth in plain English, I am.

**This gig is one original country song, written to your brief.**

**What you get**
- Full lyrics: verses, chorus, bridge (and a tag if the song needs one)
- Chord chart in ChordPro (key + tempo marked)
- Simple worktape: guitar + scratch vocal so you can hear the melody, not just read it
- 2 rounds of revisions
- Notes on form so a band or producer can pick it up without guessing

**How it works**
1. You send the story, the feeling, any lines you already have, and 2–3 reference songs (style, not a copy).
2. I send back a one-page plan: title options, chorus idea, key, tempo, form.
3. You pick a direction. I write the first full draft + worktape.
4. We do two passes. Then I deliver the final lyric sheet, ChordPro file, and demo.

I write the song first. Production comes later. This gig is the writing.

**What I write well**
- Mid-tempo country and country-rock

- Bar and small-town scenes that stay specific
- Male lead; I can structure a duet if that’s the song

**What this is not**
- Not a full produced track, mix, or master
- Not pop topline over a beat you already finished (message me first — sometimes yes, usually no)
- Not a cover rewrite of someone else’s hit
- Not AI. I write it.

**Rights (read this)**
Unless we agree otherwise in the order notes:
- You own the commissioned song as a work-for-hire: lyrics, melody, and the worktape I deliver
- I keep the right to show a short clip as a writing sample unless you ask me not to
- If you want a co-write credit / split instead of a buyout, say so before you order and I’ll send a custom offer

If the song is for someone else’s artist name, tell me. I’ll write in that voice, not mine.

**Before you order**
Message me with:
- The story in 5–10 sentences
- Who is singing it (you / a character / a duet)
- Must-include lines or must-avoid words
- Reference tracks
- Deadline

If it isn’t a fit, I’ll say so. Better that than a song neither of us believes.
