I’ll record a professional bass track for your song for $130

I’m a professional bassist, multi-instrumentalist and arranger based in Montreal. I approach bass as part of the composition and arrangement — not simply as something that fills the low end.

If you already have a bass part written, I can learn it and record it as closely as you’d like, while bringing the feel, sound and dynamics needed to make it work in your production. Or, if you need a bass part created from scratch, I can develop an original line based on your song, demo and direction.

When creating a part, I love spending time with a song and looking for the bass line that gives it its own identity. That might mean a deep, simple pocket, a melodic counterline, an unusual rhythmic idea, or something more adventurous. I’m always looking for that special angle rather than automatically reaching for the obvious part.

And if the bass line is already written, I’ll bring that same level of care and attention to recreating it. I’ll focus on the details that make the part work — the feel, articulation, dynamics, tone and relationship with the rest of the arrangement — while staying as faithful to your original part as you want me to be.

I can record electric 4- or 5-string bass as well as fretless, with a selection of both vintage and modern instruments that allows me to cover everything from warm, classic tones to more contemporary sounds. I’ll choose the instrument, sound and playing approach that best fits your production.
