Pro bass tracks for your songs for $200
I'm Matt Orenstein, and I'm a working bassist living outside of LA. I studied bass performance at Oberlin Conservatory with Peter Dominguez and Eddie Gomez, and have worked steadily in Chicago and Los Angeles for the past fifteen years. I've worked with Photo Ops, Four Larks, Laboratory Dancers (Chicago), Le Tour, Meels, Fonema Consort, Bridge to Everywhere, Jacaranda Music, Occults, Sara Melson, Naomi Greene, Lyris Quartet, Lisa Kori, Antonio Lysy, and several other artist and groups around the US. I'm also a teaching artist with the LA Phil association.
I have several American Fender P & J basses, a JMJ Mustang, two fretlesses (a Warwick Alien and Fender Tony Franklin Fretless), a heavily modded five-string active Fender jazz bass, a heavily modded JMJ mustang, modded Squier Bass VI, and a custom Kolstein Fendt acoustic bass with a realist pickup. I play german bow.
I record into a UAD Apollo Twin and have vast amounts of Arturia, Waves, iZotope, and UAD Plugins, among others. Before hitting the preamp, I run into an all-analog chain of an Empress Para Bass EQ, Origin Effects Cali76 Bass, and an OE Bassrig Fifteen Preamp at the end of my chain. I run a 1/4" out to a Neve RNDI before running that back into the pre, and I run an XLR directly out of Fifteen into a UAD preamp. It's a transparent setup that makes each bass sound more like itself.
