Professional Mixing & Mastering: 20+ Years Experience | Analog Warmth for $125
Hi, I’m James Arris. I’m a professional mixing and mastering engineer with over 20 years of experience in both studio and live settings. My work is rooted in precision, but more importantly, it’s rooted in passion. I don't just want your tracks to sound "clean"—I want them to reflect the emotional arc of your song so your music truly connects.
I don’t do "cookie-cutter." Every project is unique, and I treat your music with the same care and respect you put into writing it. I hold myself to high professional standards because I value your art and want to see your vision come to life exactly how you imagined it.
Experience Across the Board:
I’ve worked across almost every genre: Rock, Pop, R&B, Rap, Punk, Classical, Broadway, Choral, Singer-Songwriter, Americana, Alt-Rock, Jazz, and more. Whether you’re a solo artist, a full band, or a producer, I’ll make sure your release sounds polished, professional, and ready for the world.
How I Can Help
Mixing & Mastering: Deep-dive processing including EQ, compression, and loudness optimization. Delivered in high-res WAV (48kHz/24-bit). Instrumental/performance mixes upon request.
Vocal & Instrument Editing: Professional pitch correction, timing adjustments (pocketing), and noise reduction that keeps things sounding natural, not robotic.
Production Guidance: If you're stuck on an arrangement or need a second pair of ears on the dynamics, I offer hands-on support to help elevate the song before the final master.
Album & EP Services: Full project support with custom pricing to keep your sound consistent across a whole record.
The Gear (Analog Soul, Digital Precision)
I use Universal Audio hardware acceleration to bring authentic analog warmth to your digital tracks. My toolkit includes:
The Classics: SSL and Neve consoles, Studer and Ampex tape saturation.
The Heavy Hitters: UA 1176, LA-2A/3A, Fairchild 660/670, and Manley MU compressors.
The Polish: Pultec EQs, Capitol Chambers, and Pure Plate reverbs.
The Process
Revisions: 3 rounds of revisions are included. I want you to be 100% happy with the final product.
Communication: No gatekeeping or "technical-only" talk. I’m a regular guy who loves great music and stays easy to reach throughout the process.
Let’s get to work. Message me with your genre and your goals for the track, and let's bring your sound and vision to life. I'll send you my 'Studio Prep Guide' to ensure your tracks are ready for the best possible mix.
