The Vital Mix for $150

I specialise in mixing alternative genres such as alt-rock, post-punk, shoegaze, dream-pop and anything with a heart and meaning. My aim is to help unsigned underground bands and independent artists compete with label releases – and not let a weak mix give them away.

My mixing process isn't about receiving your session recording, working on it in isolation, then presenting you with the mix to either accept or reject. I want to talk with you about the track and what you want to achieve. To discuss any rough mixes and what references you may have.

You will supply a set of multitracks to work with. Don't worry if you're not sure what’s required - I can provide a checklist of requirements and formats so that there should not be any issues. But if you have any specific needs, I am more than happy to work with you on alternatives.

I will provide you with commercial quality final mixes ready for mastering, in addition to client mixes that you can compare with your existing playlists. If you need additional stems, alternate mixes, etc, please let me know.

If you need the project mastered, I can provide output files for uploading to streaming services. But if you require a full mastering service (CD Redbook/DDP or for vinyl cutting), I can help find the right service.

FAQ

*What if I'm not sure how to export multitracks or stems properly?

No problem, I provide a PDF checklist. If you get stuck, I'll guide you through the export process.

*Will you change my creative effects, amp sims or synth tones?

Never without your permission. If you built a custom vocal pitch effect, guitar amp tone, or synth patch that defines the song, keep it printed on your track. I will build around your sound design. But also supplying guitar DIs and possibly MIDI tracks can be useful too.

*What happens if I want changes to the mix?

Every full mix includes revision passes. I make it easy: just send me notes like "boost lead vocal +1 dB in verse 2" or "tame the high end on the hi-hats", and I'll implement them swiftly.

*Why offer a 30-second sample mix?

Because the audio quality should speak for itself. I want you to feel 100% confident in my ability to execute your vision before making a financial commitment.
