Newfoundland native Simon Miminis has been hitting drums for over 20 years. During that time he has covered styles ranging from funk to rock to jazz to country to world music and beyond with many formative artists including Pamela Morgan, Dave Panting, Lindy Vopnfjörd, The Tartan Terrors, Patrick Boyle, Brad Jefford, Tara Oram, Renee Marquis, Curtis Andrews and Margaret Stowe, as well as larger ensembles such as the TD Jazz Summit Big Band and the NSO just to name a few.

He relocated to Toronto in 2008 to pursue a Bachelor's of Music Degree at Humber College where he studied under many of Canada's most prolific drummers including Mark Kelso, Paul DeLong, Larnell Lewis and Chendy Leon amongst others.

He has performed in many major venues and music festivals across Canada such as The Ottawa International Jazz Festival, The Wreckhouse International Jazz and Blues Festival, Canadian Music Week, and the Cape Breton International Drum Festival where he shared the bill with some of the world's greatest drumming legends including Bernard Purdie, Uriel Jones, Gil Sharone, Dom Famularo and Billy Ward amongst others.

His playing can be heard on many albums, film scores, commercials and T.V. Most notably on Robert Budreau's feature film "Born To Be Blue" a Bio Pic of the late jazz trumpet legend Chet Baker starring Ethan Hawke as well as "Sweetness In The Belly" starring Dakota Fanning and "The Indian Detective" starring Russell Peters.

He currently co-operates Trouble Town Records, a recording studio and Record Label led by head engineer Terry Russell where he specializes in remote drum tracking for clients all over the world.

Between gigs and recording sessions Simon has also become a sought after drum instructor teaching both from home as well as various music schools throughout GTA for over a decade.
