Hello! I’m Sarah, an electroacoustic harpist in Los Angeles, where I have recorded for film and pop music, among other projects.

I started out mostly self-taught on a small lever harp, and then on a pedal harp in my local youth orchestra, where I was principal harpist for five years. I was then awarded a scholarship for harp performance in college, to play in symphony orchestra and musical theater performances as principal. Later I began playing an electroacoustic pedal harp, which is the same as an acoustic orchestral harp, but it can also be plugged into effects units to produce unique electronic textures.

I eventually undertook a Ph.D. program in Philosophy of Music at Ohio State University, but dropped out after a year to move to LA and pursue *doing* music instead of *thinking* about music. I’ve since had the honor of recording on several exciting projects, including David Fleming’s Emmy-winning score for Ron Howard’s 2024 documentary “Jim Henson: Idea Man” (Disney+), and for Bleeding Fingers Music (co-founded by Hans Zimmer) on tracks for the Extreme Music library (a subsidiary of Sony Music Publishing). I also recorded for Emmy-nominated composer Sara Barone for a confidential project, and with effects for Ilyeob Choo’s Splice sample pack “Echoes of Glass" (2025). I recorded again for David Fleming for “Eternity” (A24), which premiered in theaters in November 2025, and recently for Ichiro Suezawa and Adrian McKinnon for an upcoming Warner Chappell Music pop release.

I feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to work with these incredible composers and musicians, and would love to chat about how I can add some harp magic to your project too!
