To be, or not to be

To be, or not to be

This was one of four songs I was auditioning singers for, back in 2003-04. The singers' never worked out but I kept the songs. Twenty years later, a technology called modeled voices' was invented. Once I heard those' I bought twelve of these singers and learned how to make them sing my songs. I'd been using music software for over twenty years, but this software is peculiar. It behaves like analog gear in it's fluctuations, though it's digital. It can't yell, scream or roar like a Pat Benatar or Alanis Morissette, but it did' sing my lyrics good. In my view' it's like asking Karen Carpenter to sing a Joan Jett song. Or the male version: asking Barry Manilow to sing David Lee Roth.
