It’s 100 dollars per instrument track and 200 for vocals. Below, you'll see that I'm charging my duo recording rate: meaning (you and me). I recreate your entire song with my gear, including the modeled female vocals.
Here’s the criteria method I use on AirGigs' to categorize each situation:
If you write in the style of a singer/songwriter, I categorize this as a two-track project: Singer and one instrument with full production and mastering, 200 (vocals) + 100 (instrument) = 300 dollars.
If you write in the style of duos (i.e. Eurythmics, Simon & Garfunkel, Hall & Oates) I categorize these as three-track projects: Singer, a guitarist (or keyboardist) and an orchestrator/multi-instrumentalist with full production and mastering, 200 + 200 = 400 dollars.
If you write in the style of trios, I categorize these as four-track projects: Singer, guitarist, bassist, one additional guitar (or keyboard) with full production and mastering, 200 + 300 = 500 dollars.
If you write in the style of quartets, I categorize these as five-track projects: Singer, guitarist, bassist, one additional guitarist (or keyboardist) and an orchestrator/multi-instrumentalist with full production and mastering, 200 + 400 = 600 dollars.
If you write in the style of quintets, I categorize these as six-track projects: Singer, guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, additional keyboardist (or guitarist) and an orchestrator/multi-instrumentalist with full production and mastering, 200 + 500 = 700 dollars.
Programming modeled voices is tedious work. For the most realistic vocals, I record in vocal parts from my keyboard like any other flute or guitar melody, but then' I shift specific words into position by milliseconds and stretch both sides of some words as needed' into a more flowing form to achieve more realism. Copy-pasting a MIDI melody doesn't capture the authenticity of a natural singer. My vocal software is amazing, but I've learned how to get better results with it by using unorthodox techniques. This is partly why I learned famous cover songs first before attempting my own original music. Currently I have twelve modeled female voices.
