Location Sound Recording for $118

Hello, I’m Kir — a dedicated sound engineer based in Brno with hands-on experience in live sound, film audio, and post-production.

Feel free to contact me to discuss project details, shooting schedule, and terms. My rate is €10 per hour for ENG work or €100 per 10-hour film shooting day, with €15 per hour for overtime. Rates apply to on-site presence and include setup and breakdown time, as well as standard logistical and utility pauses. I am also available with my own location sound recording kit.

I’m flexible with long shoots and indoor or outdoor setups. For projects outside Brno, travel costs via public transportation will be estimated in advance using the IDOS app and added to the invoice by prior agreement.

My location sound recording kit is suitable for documentaries and small filming setups. I am also comfortable working with a range of professional recorders and wireless lavalier systems for larger projects.

My kit includes:
Zoom H6 Essential recorder
Sennheiser MKH-416 broadcast shotgun microphone
Blimp / windshield system
Beyerdynamic monitoring headphones
64 GB SanDisk microSDXC card

This setup allows up to 40 hours of 96 kHz / 32-bit float dialogue recording with a single boom microphone. Metadata and timecode follow the recorder’s default configuration. Additional equipment (lavaliers, wireless systems, extra microphones, timecode boxes, etc.) might be integrated by prior agreement.

When working with my equipment, the production is expected to provide a way to copy the recorded material on location, or agree on later delivery. Alternatively, the production may supply compatible microSDHC/SDXC cards, which will be returned after the shoot. Compatibility list:
