Res Affolter is born in 1968. Having grown up in the heart of Switzerland, he moved near Vienna in 2017.
Musically influenced since childhood by parents' LPs, the piano in the living room and an old home organ, the musical influences are very diverse. "I remember that when I was four or five years old I often sat at the radio with my father's oversized headphones and researched a wide variety of music stations. I also listened to my parents' LPs and singles, such as classic, pop, and experimental music. This certainly shaped my musical diversity. Actually, I would have liked to be a drummer, but I was always drawn to soundscapes and sounds, which is why I bought grooveboxes and synths with my savings".
