Robert Ruby: Memorable, Unique, Energetic Game Music and SFX for $125

Let’s make something amazing together! I’ve composed music on two commercial game releases so far and I’m always hungry for more. I specialize in modern-yet-classic-influenced soundtracks, effortlessly catchy and energetic.

In 2018, I wrote music for Nippon Marathon, released on PC and all major consoles. It's a quirky arcade-style racing and party game, and I got the chance to write a vocal theme song and work with the popular Japanese singer Diana Garnet. In 2020, I wrote and produced the music and sound effects for Farbo's World, a puzzle-adventure-platformer released on mobile in 2021. I'm currently writing the music for UEDI: Shadow of the Citadel, in development by the same studio as Nippon Marathon.

I work on many kinds of music now, but game music will always be my first love. I was raised on the classic soundtracks of the SNES, N64, Genesis, and PS1 era, and I wear that influence on my sleeve. I love to write music for mobile games, platformers, arcade-style games, and energetic action-oriented games. I also adore RPG and JRPG style writing.

I’ve been a full-time freelance musician based in Hollywood since 2017. I work in a pro-level LA recording studio with top-of-the-line equipment. I'm a multi-instrumentalist: electric and acoustic guitar, piano and keys, synths, bass, drums, percussion, and a lot more. In game soundtracks, I love layering synth and live playing for a diverse and unique sound.

My specialty is classic sounds, timeless and vintage music with modern shine! I always put the focus on the musicality. I'm really knowledgeable about music theory, melodies, and a huge range of genres across the world.
