I love finding that special something a song needs, that thing that helps to create a goose bumps moment that chromatic harmonica (the one with the button) can be so good at. Be it an emotional ballad, a funky groove, a swing, or a shuffle, I strive to bring out the best in the tune. I don't watch the clock when I'm recording as my main focus is doing what's right for the music.

While I'm very active as a multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer recording my and my partner's songs as "Slide Man Slim & Penny Hanna", I love doing harmonica tracks for clients and musician friends. It's something I've been doing since 1980.

My well-equipped and great sounding project studio has been evolving ever since the 1980's and currently includes the following signal chain that I use for harmonica parts:
- Peluso 2247SE tube mic
- Warm Audio TB12 preamp
- Cubase Pro 12 DAW running on a Mac Pro
