Abbey Road Session Pianist with Grand Piano & studio for $128
Trained at Berklee College of Music, I was also young Pianist of the Year at the Royal Northern College of Music at the age of 12. Music is my life, passion, and I live and breath for it.
I am now a session pianist, composer and conductor at Abbey Road in London, as well as running my own studio. I work with the London Symphony Orchestra and also produce sessions.
At my studio I have a 7ft 2" Schimmel Grand Piano. It is tuned regularly and sounds lovely. A rich tone like a steinway, but still clear. Different to a yamaha, but great for recording with rich full body and I keep it in excellent condition.
2x Sennheiser MKH 20 Omni Microphones
2x Neumann KM 184 Mics for the room
These are fed into Earthworks Lab 102 Preamps and deliver stunning clarity, balanced tone, and noise free recording.
The recording is done 24 BIT wave via RME Fireface 802's
The piano is in a custom built studio which was modelled on Spitfire audio's London design for their film composers Christian Henson and Paul Thomson. It is neutral, flat, and without much ambience (this can always be added later digitally to suit your track), though I always track a distant stereo pair for some early reflections at the wooden surfaced end of the room. The main pair is captured with a technique shown to me at Abbey Road for their film sessions. It provides excellent detail, but will slot into any mix.
