My journey with music began nearly 40 years ago. I've been blessed with over 25 years of international professional experience, touring and recording all over the world. I've been freelancing on drums since the mid 90s when I was touring on the underground prog rock scene in Europe sharing bills with legendary groups like Asia, Uriah Heep, Saga and others. At the same time I was also touring Canada on the Indie rock scene. My musical direction shifted more toward jazz and creative music around 2002 when I relocated to Edinburgh, Scotland. While in the UK I performed with many International jazz musicians and vocalists. Cabaret stars Lady Rizo (NYC), Ali McGregor (AUS), Jazz vocal legends Barbara Morrison (US) and Lillian Boutte (US), Julienne Taylor (UK), Niki King (UK), guitarist Jim Mullen (UK) from the Average White Band, guitarist Ulf Wakenius (SWE) from the Oscar Peterson Quartet, Celtic rock legends Wolfstone (SCO) and many others. In 2014 I moved to Toronto, Canada, working with a wide range of artists including JUNO award winning soul/RnB vocalists Billy Newton Davis, Carlos Morgan and Gavin Hope (The Nylons). I was lucky enough to also perform with many of Canada's premiere jazz musicians as well as international players like Joel Frahm (US) and Russ Nolan (US). I've also produced many projects of my own, find me on Bandcamp.
Drums: Tama SLP Fat Spruce kit. Configuration: 12" rack tom, 14" floor tom, 20" bass drum and a 14 x 6.5 Tama SLP Spotted gum snare. I am proud to endorse Bosphorus cymbals and there is a wide range to choose from to suit styles from rock and pop to jazz. I use a classic 4 mic set up including stereo overheads: Warm Audio WA - 84, SM 57 snare mic and AKG D 112 bass drum mic. Antelope Audio Discrete 4 Interface. The tracks I provide are clean stems and are not mixed.
