Professional multitrack session drums. Recording, mixing, production. for $120

Hello there, I’m Nigel. I have been a professional drummer and sound engineer since 1992, working on countless concerts and sessions. Now I’m offering my drumming and production skills online so that I can help you create the best possible live drums and associated production to fit your project wherever you are. My studio ‘The Doghouse’ is situated in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Previously I have worked as a drummer with; Iain Ballamy, Martin Speake, Robin Lumley, Guy Chambers, Jools Holland, Geno Washington, James Woodrow, Tony Hadley, Leo Green, Rune Funch, Nikolaj Torp Larson, Charlie Winston, Ron Carter, Malcolm Ross and currently provide batterie for the band Astro Hatch with Danish guitar great Claus Bøhling.

From 1992 to 2005 I was a house engineer at The Premises Recording Studios in Hackney, London. Clientele included; Ian Shaw, Ronnie Caryl, Dill Katz, Flora Purim, Roy Ayers, Talvin Singh, Dennis Davis, Hermeto Pascoal, Palle Mikkelborg, Theo Travis, Michael Dunford, Tony Marsh, Harry Beckett, Kings Of Convenience, London Community Gospel Choir, Ten Benson, Jamie Cullum, Martin Drew, Mike Westbrook, The BBC, Channel 5 & Jazz FM.

Education:
I have an OCR Certificate and Diploma in Sound Recording and Music Technology.

Equipment:
Yamaha Maple Custom drumset plus a selection of snare drums inc. Mapex, Premier, Yamaha & Sound Percussion Labs. Paiste cymbals. Assorted percussion. AKG, Røde, Shure, Beyer microphones. 2 x Focusrite Clarett 8 Pre’s with Air. Pro Tools. Focal Alpha Professional active monitors.

Live Room:
Custom constructed, with great live acoustics and variable sound reflective and absorbing material.

Basic work structure:
Initially send me demos/sound files of your music, preferably with a separate click track - if not the BPM/s will do - with any thoughts on how you imagine the drum parts to be. We can then discuss the best way to create the drum parts & which sound will work the best. As well as remote sessions I can offer in-person work at my Copenhagen studio.
I will then record the drum track/s and send them to you roughly mixed for your comments. There will need to be a pre-determined limit on how many passes, edits etc I will do on any particular track, depending on the track itself. When you are happy, I will then send you the finished, separate drum tracks in your preferred format or fully mixed stereo files.
