Session Bassist, 20+ years of experience for $60
I am working from my home studio in Montreal, Canada.
EQUIPMENT: I am using an 80' Fender Japan P-Bass (either round-wound or flat-wound strings), and an old carved upright bass that I love the sound of. My DAW is Logic Pro X (with lots of external plugins), and I use Focusrite preamps.
I also have a few effects, notably a classic BOSS OC-2, and an Ampeg DI that continually impresses every sound engineer I with them.
My past work has been very diverse. My early days were R&B and Jazz, and I've added many styles since. Surf, Rockabilly, Rock, Pop, Country, Avant-Garde, Swing, Singer/Songwriter, Funk ... did I forget any? I'm not much a of a name-dropper, but the list includes some very fine musicians from the Canadian scene.
I know music theory and can read all different kinds of music charts!
My main goal is and has always been to remain as open as possible to any and every style! Recently, I do a lot of corporate work, covering anything form Sinatra to Jackson 5 to Beiber. I also have been touring recently with Montreal band The Dears.
I like to think of myself as being reasonable, honest and caring in my work. Therefore, my process is simple. I'll communicate with you about your needs/desires, then I will listen to your song, as I begin constructing ideas. I love the creation process, so I can give you TWO distinctly different TAKES for each of your songs, and you can decide which you like more! I can then send you the MONO tracks in the format you need. I'll can offer TWO revisions afterward as well. EDITS are seen the same as revisions (although if there are any clams, they'll be edited out before original delivery ... OF COURSE!)
When it comes to processing the tracks, it can be as little or as much as you'd like. Usually a little bit of compression is helpful ;)
Looking forward to working with you!
