I'm a professional Bass Player who lived and worked in London and Berlin. My main work included primarily studio sessions, live sessions, musical theatre and global touring for all kinds of artists.
Visit my website for all of my credits.

Process:
My usual way of recording electric bass is playing a specific bass that fits your needs of your style through a Kemper Profiler. This allows me to dial in a specific tone that is needed for your record. I then go via stereo signal into my Universal Audio Apollo were I can tread the signal more if needed (make it more vintage sounding or more of an aggressive tone for example). This will then be recorded into the DAW were I can tweak the sound even further with numerous plug-ins.

My usual way of recording upright bass is to use 3 simultaneous paths. The first one is a DI signal that comes from the K&K Golden Trinity pickup (a combination of a close condenser mic and/or a piezo pickup). The second signal is a large diaphragm condenser that is close micing the bass and the third is a ribbon mic a little further away from the bass.

Edits/Takes:
I'll edit the bass part until I'm 100% happy with it, otherwise it wouldn't leave my studio. The first time I send you something I'll include 2 versions: 1 main version and one alternate version. This way you have more control over the bass part.

All of my tracks will be sent over in high quality .wav format (44.1, 48, 96, 192khz at 16 or 24bit rate)
