Oud recording & other ethno stringed instruments for $150

The oud is a well-known fretless lute from the Arab world. Due to it's fretless nature it is able to produce the 'in-between' tones of the Arabic Maqams, as well as sustained 'blue notes'. It is excellent for subtle melodies, less used for playing chords.

My personal preference is the Canadian-made Godin MultiOud which is a hybrid instrument, capable of greatly increased sustain compared with a traditional oud. For example, the MultiOud can produce gamaka-style ornamentations as in Indian Classical Music, but with the nylon-string tonality of the traditional oud.

I also play a traditional Turkish-made oud, tuned to Arabic tuning, as well as a Turkish cümbüş (fretless banjo), baglama saz (Anatolian long-necked lute), and an 8-stringed ukulele which I call my "Octolele" and have used in both Greek Rembetika, and Brazilian Partido Alto/Samba music. These are in addition to several electric guitars.

My oud playing style is primarily inspired by a North African style, one of my main influences being Anouar Brahem (Tunisia). I have a long love affair with Greek music and am familiar with many different styles and artists from Greece.

I am also interested in recording to film soundtrack, videos, advertisements, etc.
