Hey - my name is Matt Bacon & I'm a prize winning classical guitarist. I graduated with honors from Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University. I've taught at colleges and given guest lectures & masterclasses around the world, particularly in India & Thailand. My arrangements have been published by Mel Bay in the US and I've had my pieces performed abroad by the Sunshine Orchestra.
I specialize in making theory "make sense" and demystifying concepts such as functional harmony, diminished chords, and arranging. I'm comfortable teaching beginners, but LOVE teaching guitarists who are looking to read music better, become a better sight-reader or simply understand harmony better from an approach that covers rock, songwriting, classical and pop.
I provide PDFs and assignments for all classes and can offer one-time lectures to touch up your ability, month long courses, or long term lessons for audition prep for major performing arts schools.
