I've been drumming for 20 years, and working as a drummer my entire working life. I teach, record, compose and perform and I'm perfectly happy playing most styles. I play in a Latin/Jazz/Funk fusion band called Amba, 2 Symphonic power metal bands called Sellsword and Final Blast, and perform weddings and parties with my function band The Steel City Groovers.
My recording set up is as follows (16 mic inputs):
Focusrite 18i20 4th Gen
Behringer Ultragain Digital ADA8200 (Midas Preamps)
Roland TM2 and Footblaster Triggers (if needed)
Mic selection varies between Shure, Behringer and PreSonus, all good quality and have kicked out top quality recordings. I use two shure SM57s for the snare top and bottom, and a Shure PGA52 (external) and Behringer 19A (internal) combination for the kick. Matched overheads (changes between Behringer and PreSonus depending on the type of music) and an SE2200A for an over kit mic, and a Rode NT1 for the room.
