Hi there, my name is Steve Whitworth. I’ve been writing and recording my own material for over thirty five years and started writing songs when I was fifteen, after learning to play the guitar when I was twelve.

By the time I was in grade ten, I was playing bass in a band called Crossroads and started gigging around town. The guitarist and I wrote a couple of songs together, which we recorded and played at our live shows.

From the age of eighteen, I spent a lot of time playing in bands and developing my skills as both a musician and a songwriter and must have written well over a hundred songs during a five-year period.

I recorded an original eight song solo EP in between semesters in 1994 and put out a full-length album with my band Ragged Faith in 1996 .

I began submitting songs to TAXI music and attended one of their conferences in Los Angeles in 2012. I had some decent reviews of my music from some producers, and one of my songs was selected and played over the PA system at the conference finale. One producer liked it and took a copy, but like anything else in this business, nothing is a sure bet.

After my experience with TAXI, I continued to write and record a lot and released four more albums over the next several years. An EP in 2011 with my band Fortunate Soul followed by a full-length album in 2015. I did two additional albums in 2017 with my band, Hard Wired.

I’m presently working on a new project called Babylon Calling. This is my first stab at writing a concept album.
