Mike King's is one of the UK’s leading contemporary vocal coaches and as a musical director, choir leader and arranger his musicianship, energy and enthusiasm are unrivalled.


Mike has been involved in the music industry for nearly 20 years since signing a record contract at the age of 17.  He has worked as a vocal coach on The Voice UK (BBC), helped smash a Guinness World Record by conducting 5,000 singers at Wembley Arena and directs choirs worldwide.  He was a lecturer at Goldsmiths University of London for 12 years and was a guest vocal tutor at the University of East London and London Metropolitan University.  He has worked with various international artists including multi-GRAMMY® winning singer Angelique Kidjo, GRAMMY® winning producer Jeff Bhasker (Kanye West, Beyonce, Bruno Mars, Rihanna), Mark Ronson, Boy George, Lily Allen and Florence Welch.



Mike has established himself as a talented vocal arranger and has been commissioned to arrange songs for various choirs and projects including BBC Radio, the 2012 Olympic Games and the prestigious PFA Awards.  He was recently asked to arrange and musical direct a live TV performance of David Bowie's 'Starman' for Stand Up To Cancer on Channel 4.
 
Mike's inspiring and emotive vocal arrangements fuse the elements of jazz and soul and are the signature sound of his own collective, MKC, one of the UK’s premier vocal groups who were described as the ‘new wave in choir singing’ at the UK’s Choir of the Year.

As a songwriter, Mike received high acclaim for his composition ‘That’s When I Miss You The Most’ recorded and released by British jazz singer Lee Gibson and selected as ’Pick of the Week’ on BBC Radio 3.  His charity song, ‘Find Our Way’, recorded with his vocal collective, MKC, and children from an inner-city London school, debuted at number two in the Amazon Hot New Releases chart.
