Miriam recently graduated her Masters degree in musical performance with first class honours from the Aaron Copland School of Music and studying with renowned cellist Marcy Rosen. Miriam also completed her Bachelor Degree with first class honours at the Royal Northern College of Music in England. In her third year she was awarded a place on Erasmus to study in Essen, Germany where studied with Professor Young-Chang Cho. Her first two years at RNCM were under the guidance of Nicholas Trygstad, principle of the Hallé Orchestra who also taught her for her two years at the Junior Royal Northern College of Music. Her final year of the RNCM she spent under the tuition of Sally Pendlebury, Cellist of the Fitzwilliam Quartet, Chamber Orchestra of Europe and a well-known cellist all over Europe. Miriam has performed concertos with orchestras including Saint Saëns, Vivaldi double, Elgar, Schumann, Haydn and Tchaikovsky. She has participated in only one international competition receiving second prize in the Lyon's competition at the age of 17. Miriam also took part in music courses to further her education, such as 'Gathering of the Clans' with her previous teacher Sue Lowe and also Hannah Robert’s cello course. There she gained valuable teaching and played in master classes with Sandy Bailie, Pierre Doumenge, Anna Shuttleworth, Tim Lowe, Matthew Lowe, Leandro Silvera and Hannah Roberts. Since being a conservatoire student, Miriam has had further master-classes with Miklós Perényi, Ralph Kirshbaum, Emma Ferrand and Steven Doane, as well as being awarded two prizes: The Amy Lindley Prize for Cello and The John Webster memorial Prize. Miriam is a keen chamber musician recently winning the Balsam scholarship at the Aaron Copland School of Music as well as the Hirsch Prize with the Mobski Quartet at the Royal Northern College of Music and performed at the Budafest Chamber Music Festival. She has also been awarded a place on the Professional Experience Scheme with the BBC Philharmonic. Recently she performed Tchaikovsky Rococo variations with both High Peak Orchestra and Ameretti Chamber ensemble and performed concerts at Lasham Music Festival with the Mobski Quartet. Since being at the Aaron Copland School of Music, Miriam has also been awarded the Schacher scholarship, the Lawrence Rosenfeld Scholarship and Chamber Music Live award as well as being assigned principle of the school orchestra.
