Kat Holland, NC-based retro-pop singer/songwriter, has just announced her latest single, “Wanting More”, out January 3rd 2020.
Holland draws from many musical influences including Fletcher, Sasha Sloan, Norah Jones, Maggie Rogers, Lana Del Rey, Maroon 5 and more. She started playing piano at the age of 4, and throughout her middle school and high school years she added singing, guitar, and songwriting to her repertoire. She was a part of multiple choirs growing up, which gave her knowledge in the field of classical music as well. After undergrad, Kat studied songwriting at Berkee School of Music and earned her Professional Certificate in General Music Studies.
At the beginning of 2018 Kat Holland recorded her first EP, "Retrovision" at the famed Village Studios in Los Angeles with producer Cliff Brodsky. She premiered the EP on Genre is Dead in early 2019 and since then has received accolades from The Fox Magazine, La Music Critic, iHeart radio and more. Holland also recently gained national recognition after singing the National Anthem at a Carolina Panthers game.
Holland has been quickly working her way up the music industry ladder and doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon. “Wanting More” has a new, fresh sound that combines Retro-pop and Soul. She is currently working on new music and plans to release another single soon, along with performing an abundance of live shows in 2020.
