Jake studied music theory, composition, and recording engineering in the early 2000's near Charlottesville Virginia under the mentorship of Anne Marie Simpson (co-creator of MixHalo) and Wallace Hornady (organist in Mr. Wondefull - 1993). He was able to learn his way around a mixing board and audio software while running sound for professional live theater performances as well as musical artists such as Keller Williams, Peyton Tochterman, Don McCloskey, the Harlem Gospel Choir and a number of other local Charlottesville performers. He moved to a rural log cabin near Rollinsville Colorado and remained connected in the music scene in the towns of Rollinsville, Nederland, and Boulder. He spent several years in Colorado developing his own songwriting and musicianship as well as recording live performances at the famous Stage Stop Inn where he recorded performances by artists like Yonder Mountain String Band, Vince Herman, and Elephant Revival - among others.

After taking a few years to explore hobbies and spend more time with family. Jake is currently a sound engineer for a production company called Crabtree Sessions, which he helped build from it's infancy, he manages live recording sessions, acts as the stage/lighting/sound production manager for all live shows at our live venue and manages, mixes, masters all audio projects from Crabtree Sessions. He has been involved in recording situations from full studio albums to class projects for the local school and many projects in between.
