History

Former Apocrypha frontman Dave Fitzgerald and former Tramp Alley drummer Ed Barich got together to form the seminole Seattle band Introvenus Demilo in 1994. After adding guitarist Zachary Poll and Bassist Bill Starnes, the lineup was complete. The band soon surfed the wave that had been created by Sound Garden, Alice in Chains and Pearl Jam to much success after releasing an EP titled "Blah!" In the spring of 1995, the band went into Stepping Stone Studios in Seattle and recorded what would become a cult hit record titled "Freedom Sleep". The single "Shine" would become a Northwest hit and stayed in juke boxes for four years. The band entered an agreement with indie record label Fresh Step Kitty Records, but soon was courted by such majors as EMI, Warner Brothers & Atlantic. Extensive touring and promotional shoots became ever prevalent in the the lives of the band and eventually the pressures of the road caused the band to take a small break in 1996. The addition of another guitarist, German born Frank Schaffer gave the sound a little more bite and the band began work on their second album which was to be titled "In the Name of God". To hold over fans, they released another EP titled "Fall To Pieces" which became a cult classic single. Two months into writing, tensions began to flare and guitarist Zachary Poll didn't hold back his dislike for having Schaffer at the lead guitar helm. After a intoxicated and disastrous show in Everett Washington, vocalist Dave Fitzgerald left the band and the remaining members never continued on. Some years after the breakup, fans all over the world began to demand copies of the Freedom Sleep edition, which had become out of print. The former members went on to join new projects such as Korpus Kristy, Lennox Bridge and The Kings of Ireland, but never revisited IVD again. Guitarist Zachary Poll died of an overdose in late 1999 making a original reunion impossible and drummer Ed Barich died suddenly of a heart attack in the summer of 2016. Remaining original members Bill Starnes and Dave Fitzgerald began to work through the old masters again and agreed to reform with new members to bring a re-issued version of "Freedom Sleep" to the masses of fans all over the world and to begin work on new material.
