Guilherme Pimenta is part of a rare generation of violin players that have been bringing their instrument into unsual contexts such as Choro, Samba and Forró and mixing these genres with Jazz. Born in Minas Gerais- Brazil, this young violinist and composer studied music, classical violin and improvisation at prestigious music schools in Brazil and in the United States (undergraduated at UFMG- Brazil; master of music at University of New Mexico-EUA). He has been on stage playing everything from Brazilian music, to Jazz and Classical in countries such as Belgium, Brazil, United States, France, Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland. Guilherme Pimenta is now living in Rio de Janeiro, where he is giving weekly concerts and recording with several groups and musicians of different styles. He recorded two albums with the samba group Papagaio Sabido and as a soloist has released 3 albuns.
