I've completed a Bachelor in Popular Music (Honours), and I've also been producing music in a live and studio sense for the past 12 years.
Bass guitar is the fundamental of a track. As an instrument, it's strengths lie in it's capacity for melody, it's resonance in adding depth and power, and solidifying the movement of the full arrangement. Sometimes being more rhythmic than a drum kit. Bass underpins the chords from the more harmonic instruments in an arrangement and melodically outlining chord tones. My philosophy with my instrument is to serve the song, not myself, so that's what you'll get from me.
