I went to LA California to study Guitar at MIT and also took piano lessons, I met there Emmett Chapman the creator of the Chapman Stick and took Stick lessons with him, when I came back to Mexico I became the representative of Stick Enterprises,Inc. and promoted the instrument in Mexico City giving clinics and seminars in many music schools. At the same time I was writing jingles for radio and TV for many known brands including AeroMexico, World Trade Center, Aristos Hotels among them, close to 30 jingles written by myself were aired in the 90's. I then went to write for theatre and composed original music for The Wizard of Oz, Ali Baba, The Treasure Island, Peter Pan among others, these were big productions that demanded great music. Later on I decided to create a Record Label to help and produce other artists, I signed Rock bands like La Barranca, Seckta Core, and Guillotina, but I was overwhelmed by the paper work contracts, the distribution problems and piracy which hit us really hard so I decided to close the record label and pursued my only passion that was writing and producing music. I built one of the best sounding studios in Mexico and the first Producer that heard my studio was Gordon Raphael, known for his work with The Strokes who was producing a record for Fobia and he said that my room ¨sounded fantastic¨. I recorded there, artists like Aleks Syntek, Regina Orozco, Estrambóticos and Huevos Cartoon. I did the film scoring for a movie called Änoche soñé contigo¨ and recorded many bands including Big Bands and Classical Music.
I could not stand the Smog and the traffic of Mexico so I moved to a small town called Tepoztlan where I live now, I wrote the music for ¨La Llorona de Xochimilco¨ for two years, different music each year and I also wrote the music for a documentary called ¨La ruta de los Conventos de Morelos¨, which won a first place in the international tourism fair in Spain. Now I spend my time writing all kinds of music from Pop to Film Scoring. I have worked with all kinds of people from Publicity Agencies to theatre and movie directors to young guys that want to form a band or get their music taken to a next level, so I have experience and a six sense when it comes to knowing what the clients want. I hope this helps you know a little about me and look forward to work in your project.
