Brett Lair is a student at Texas State University. He majors in Music Studies, with an Instrumental Emphasis, and previously studied trombone under Professor Charles R. Hurt, and now studies under Dr. Martin McCain Jr. and Prof. Ron Wilkins. Brett Lair was born in 2001, and was raised just South of the University in San Antonio, Texas.

He currently participates in the Texas State Bobcat Marching Band, and Concert Band, both on tenor trombone. He currently is a Band Manager for the marching band. Brett Lair has performed both locally and nationally, specifically abroad in the Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary, with the Youth Orchestra of San Antonio, and the San Antonio Youth Wind Ensemble, and alongside the San Antonio Symphony, and San Antonio Wind Symphony. He currently does individual arranging for future recitals and his chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
