My name is Andrew Toy and I am a professional drummer and percussionist based in the Washington DC area. I've toured and recorded with artists across the musical spectrum and I love the creative challenge of crafting the perfect part for a client/collaborator. Although I gravitate towards more experimental sounds personally, I am equally at-home and content creating parts for more straight-ahead situations.

My studio features several drum sets and percussion instruments for covering the widest range of sounds and styles. I use Ableton Live and have a large collection of mics, preamps, and digital workflows. I have released 2 albums under my name and have contributed to countless tracks by others. The recording process varies by client but I typically receive a drumless track and (optionally) a track with demo/scratch drums for guidance. From there I send back a version with drums/percussion for approval, repeating the process until you are thrilled with the tracks.
