Alex Bosson knew from an early age that being a drummer was all he wanted to be in life. He started drumming at the age of 13, taking private lessons for about 6 months until branching out on his own. After that, throughout high school and past that playing in local death metal bands and doing small self-funded tours around the Western US. By the age of 21, he had slipped discs in his spine and had to give up playing, potentially forever. That being a fate he wasn’t willing to accept, he underwent 4 different surgeries, other various procedures and lots of physical therapy over the next 5 years. By the age of 26 he was finally well enough to get back behind the kit.
At this time, he and long-time friend Ryan Erwin started LUNAR. A progressive metal project inspired by acts such as Opeth, Devin Townsend, Tool, etc. Now, in 2020, LUNAR is working on their upcoming 3rd full-length album to be released via Divebomb Records in late 2021.
Shortly after forming LUNAR, Alex met Jason Ashcraft and became the new drummer of HELION PRIME. Alex played on the 2nd HELION PRIME album, “Terror Of The Cybernetic Space Monster” (AFM Records) and the 3rd album, “Question Everything.” HELION PRIME has been rising in the US Power Metal scene touring with acts like UNLEASH THE ARCHERS and STRIKER.
Alex also spends the time in between LUNAR and HELION PRIME teaching, doing session studio, video and tour work. He’s done tracks and tours with DIRE PERIL, albums with PLANESWALKER, EX AEGIS, JUDICATOR, HAMARA, and many more!

Alex proudly uses and endorses:
