Bassist Warren Murrel has been holding down the low end for over a decade in the Southern California music scene. He has worked with notable producers such as Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile, Rival Sons), Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, Aerosmith, The Black Crowes), Don Was (Bonnie Raitt, The Rolling Stones, John Mayer), Warren Huart (The Fray, Aerosmith), Darrell Thorpe (Foo Fighters, Radiohead), and Alex Pasco (Adele, Paul McCartney, Beck).

Since joining Robert Jon & The Wreck in 2018, Murrel has recorded eight albums with the band, including their acclaimed live release, and toured extensively across the United States and more than 15 countries worldwide. Along the way, RJTW have shared stages with acts like Joe Bonamassa, Peter Frampton, Eric Gales, Living Colour, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Walter Trout, Rival Sons, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Lukas Nelson, Little Feat, The Black Crowes, The Marshall Tucker Band, John Fogerty, and many more.

The band has also made standout appearances at world-class festivals including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival (New Orleans, USA), Telluride Blues & Brews (Telluride, USA), MEMPHO Music Festival (Memphis, USA), Bourbon & Beyond (Louisville, USA), Bospop (Weert, Netherlands), Azkena Rock Festival (Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain), Maid of Stone Festival (Kent, UK), and Herzberg Festival (Germany). In addition, they have been featured on Germany’s legendary Rockpalast, a rite of passage for some of rock’s most iconic performers.

Murrel is also a graduate of the Musicians Institute for Drums and Audio Engineering, with a session engineering résumé that includes work for Dweezil Zappa, Don Preston, Gordon Campbell, and others. Before joining RJTW, he played drums and bass in a wide range of Orange County bands, carving out a reputation as a versatile and reliable musician.

Today, Warren is proudly endorsed by Aguilar Amplification, Hepcat Pickups, and SoloDallas. His rig features a Warmoth Jazz Bass with roasted swamp ash body and roasted flame maple neck, loaded with Hepcat ’62 J pickups and strung with D’Addario Nickel XLs. His pedalboard includes a Line6 Helix Stomp with Pedalnetics extension, SoloDallas Bass X, Electronic Audio Experiments Longsword, and Origin Effects DCX Bass, all running through an Aguilar SL-212 powered by the Tone Hammer 500 head.

Off stage, Warren is all about balance—he enjoys a good time with friends, a cold beer or two, and keeping the vibes right with a little green. Most importantly, he loves spending time at home in Southern California with his beautiful wife, their one-year-old son, and the family cat.
