Shane Borth has been the violinist, violist and co-composer for Quixotic since
2006, recording and writing music as well as being on the core team. Mr. Borth has toured the US and internationally extensively performing music. Having studied violin since the age of four, Shane attended UMKC’s Conservatory of Music and won the Concertmaster position his senior year. Shane has studied with premiere artists, Benny Kim, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg and Oberlin’s Almita and Roland Vamos, and renowned teachers Alice Joy and her son Brian Lewis. Shane held seats in several professional symphonies before his career organically moved into the performing arts. He has also played in many bands including Shooting Star and Flannigan’s Right Hook and The Drew Davis Band, playing bluegrass, Irish, folk, country, jazz, swing and rock styles on violin, viola, mandolin, keyboards and guitar.

Mr. Borth has been awarded 100 Most Influential People in Kansas City (KC Magazine, 2014), two Regional EMMY Awards for Composition (2016, 2017), two Gold ADDY Awards (2015, 2016), Best Performing Art Group multiple times (Pitch Weekly, as a member of Quixotic), 1st Place in the Kansas State Fiddle Competition (2015), and was inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame in 2012. Mr. Borth has also performed at multiple churches including St. Paul’s in Olathe and First Baptist in Raytown, MO as a violinist and band leader. From 2018 and 2022 Shane Borth held the role of Music Director and Lead Performer/Violinist in “Sensatia Cabaret”, “Samsara Cabaret”, & “Tryst” long-term residency shows in the Faena Hotel’s theater in Miami Beach, Florida and at the Quixotic Theater at Crown Center in Kansas City, MO, all produced by internationally recognized entertainment company Quixotic.
