Hailing from Neath, South Wales, Matthew Fry is an accomplished bassist with over a decade of international touring, recording and live performance experience. He has performed throughout the UK, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the United States.

Matthew first gained national recognition as bassist and vocalist with the Welsh electro-pop band Friends Electric. The band enjoyed widespread success, with singles playlisted on BBC Radio 1 and XFM, live sessions for BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 2, and performances at major festivals including BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Isle of Wight Festival, V Festival, Latitude and SXSW. They also shared the stage with Blondie at Somerset House, headlined London’s KOKO and co-wrote a track for Nicola Roberts’ debut solo album.

Alongside his original music career, Matthew has worked with a diverse range of artists including BBC All Together Now winner Shellyann, singer-songwriter Dan Croll and Who’s Molly?, performing at prestigious venues such as The Cavern Club, Somerset House, BBC Maida Vale Studios and SIR Studios in Los Angeles. His credits also include appearances at the Welsh BAFTAs and numerous television and radio broadcasts.

Matthew is also a regular member of Ultimate Eagles, bringing his musicianship and authentic performance style to one of the world’s leading Eagles tribute productions, touring extensively with the show across the UK and internationally.

Away from the stage, Matthew is a passionate music educator, teaching bass, guitar and Songwriting.
