My name is Josh Morrison. I am a Nashville based musician with over 15 years of producing, live performance, and recording experience. I started off at the age of 9 to become a drummer. However, in my teenage years I discovered the guitar and banjo and shortly laid the drumsticks down.
I graduated from Southern Illinois University with a bachelors degree in Audio Production with a minor in music theory. I had the great joy of learning from Todd Herreman who has 20 plus years experience in the music business working for folks like Prince, Michael Jackson, Jeff Beck, and more. From him I learned producing, engineering, and the ins and outs of the ever changing music business.
Before recently making the move to Nashville I've played with many bands threw out Illinois covering a variety of genres including country, bluegrass, rock, pop, blues, and jazz. I've recorded and produced many albums with some of those same bands as well. Most notably This past year I was able to co-produce and play most of the acoustic guitar work on Mark Stoffel''s latest release Coffee & Cake on Mountain home records. Mark is the mandolin player for the well known bluegrass band Chris Jones and The Night Drivers. I am no stranger to electric guitar either. I also co-produced and played electric guitar on a great band I am in, called the Jed Adam Band, for our debut album Jed Adam Band EP. Both of these albums you can find on Youtube, Spotify, and Apple Music. While doing all this I have been highly active in the church. I have played where ever I was needed as well as being a part time music directer and worship leader over the past 10 years.
My influences span a wide range including: Chet Atkins, vertical Horizon, Tony Rice, Pink Floyd, Doc Watson, Brent Mason, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Steely Dan, Toto, Wes Montgomery, Robin Ford, Scott Vestal, Oscar Peterson, Jim Mills, and on and on. You get it. I dig music, playing it, thinking about it, talking about it, and listening to it. I hope we get to work together and create more music for the world to enjoy.
