With a Minor in Music Technology Degree, Nigel grew up on the Southside of Chicago and he is the youngest child of seven children; 5 boys and 2 girls. Raised by a single mother and no father figure in his life, Nigel had to quickly find himself a hobby and his purpose in life. Nigel refused to be taken by the streets for the likes of gang violence and law enforcement. Nigel developed his musical ability while entering lyrical sessions with his older brother Antowaun at the age of twelve years old. Since then, Nigel has written, composed and produced thousands of songs for himself and local artists. To keep himself busy and out of trouble; Nigel used his musical ability, school and sports to create a better life for his family and himself. It was hard at times to focus on music, school and sports for Nigel coming from a low-income single parent home and in the rough streets of Chicago. Nigel had to worry about sleeping some nights without heat, utilizing the stove as a house warmer, sometimes no lights, and on a few occasions not even having a place to sleep at night. You can see the drive and childhood struggles in his eyes and most importantly hear it in his music which plays a major role in his creativity. Nigel does not allow his trials and tribulations to stop him from achieving his dreams and becoming successful in all his endeavors. Nigel music still can't be categorized as his lyrical content stems from experiences, catchy hooks, mellow and edgy rhyme schemes and sarcastic vocabulary. Nigel has many influences from Michael Jackson, James Brown, Tupac, Jay Z, Biggie Smalls, Kanye West, Usher, Chris Brown, John Mayer, Bruno Mars, Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Miguel, Kendrick Lamar and many more.
