Doug Drewes is a freelance bassist, composer and educator in Philadelphia. He has 100s of tracks as an NYC session musician and his playing can be heard on tv shows for NBC, MTV, IFC and USA. Doug has performed throughout the US and Canada including performances at Carnegie Hall, CMJ Music Festival, and the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. He has performed/recorded with Robert Randolph, Hurrah! A Bolt of Light!, The Nightmare River Band, The NYCity Slickers, Greg Hopkins, the David White Jazz Orchestra, and the All Star Jazz Trio. Doug is currently a faculty member at the New York Jazz Academy in New York City and Trenton Music Makers in Trenton NJ while also maintaining a busy private teaching studio. Mr. Drewes received his bachelors of music at the State University of New York at Purchase College and has studied bass with Dennis Irwin and Madison Rast.
