By the time Casi Joy first came to national attention as a contestant on The Voice in 2017, she had already spent the majority of her life on stage. Her first public performance, age five, was singing “Angels Among Us” at a local Kansas City talent show after discovering an instrumental mix on the B-side of her parents’ Alabama cassette tape. Now based in Nashville, Casi has grown into a formidable songwriter while applying her interest in performance to one of the most notorious rigorous touring schedules in the business. By 2019 she was spending so much time on the road that she and her husband Bryan decided to convert her tour bus (“The Joyride”) into a mobile home. That fierce dedication to reaching fans across the country, as well as an embrace of interactive social media live-streaming even years before the COVID-19 pandemic, has earned Casi 350,000 followers and over 45 million views across social media and one of the most warmly loyal fanbases in the business. Casi’s spirited performance and empathetic songwriting style have garnered praise from a wide variety of music outlets including Rolling Stone, CMT, E!, People Magazine, The Boot, and Taste of Country; over the years she’s shared stages with some of country music’s biggest names including Maren Morris, Keith Urban, Carly Pearce, and Dustin Lynch. Her vivacious characters and careful ear for the earnest and often irreverent tones we tend to take in talking about our lives allow her to spin stories — often about day-to-day frustrations — into a celebration of the frustrations and the small absurdities we all share in our lives.
