FOR NEW, FIRST-TIME CLIENTS - BOOK YOUR FIRST SONG WITH ME AT MY REGULAR PRICE AND I WILL RECORD YOUR SECOND SONG AT HALF MY PRICE VIA A "CUSTOM OFFER". Inbox me for details. My journey on the bass began at the age 15 inspired by hard rock / "hair bands" of the 80's (Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue, Gene Simmons of Kiss, Rachel Bolen of Skid Row, Lonnie Vincent of Bullet Boys, and, yes, Kip Winger of Winger). After a few years of playing my tastes began leaning toward funkier bass playing, prog rock and jazz (Flea, Jimmy Haslip, John Myung, and Geddy Lee). For a few years I pursued a degree in music at UL in Lafayette college of music where my I got more into jazz and classical playing and received formal lessons on the upright bass and electric bass as well (although the upright was cool to learn, it just never resonated or hugely appealed to me). During that time I was into the jazzier styles of John Patitucci (his solo and with Chick Corea), Victor Wooten, Jaco, Steve Rodby (Pat Metheny), Paul S Denman (Sade), and Nathan East (Eric Clapton, Fourplay). After 3 years of college I decided to leave to start getting some real-world experiences of traveling and playing gigs with various bands. Because of the music I was playing I began listening to and studying the styles Donald "Duck" Dunn, Aston "Family Man" Barrett, James Jamerson, and various other studio/session bassists (particularly working in and around Nashville, TN and L.A., CA). Coming from a hard rock background, though, I kept a foot in the rock scene, too, getting into and occasionally going to see bands whose bassists included Mike Starr (Alice In Chains), dUg Pinnick (King's X), Rex Brown (Pantera), and Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big, DLR). During my times in college and being a full-time musician I had ample opportunities to do some recording on various projects in both recording studios and out of people's houses. This platform has allow me many more recording opportunities. Check out some of my recorded work on my service page. NOTE: I work with a team of fellow AirGig members that consists of myself on bass, Brian Petry (gmsdrummer) on drums, and Justin Lewis (jjlw225) on guitar (I can provide you links to their pages). If you need their services, visit their respective pages. I've recently set up my service with "Subscription Benefits" - subscribe to my service and we can work out those benefit details based on specific needs for your project.
