Carry You

Carry You

“Carry You” began as a simple Instagram video one quiet evening when Birgitte was home alone, practicing guitar.
“I was just playing around with some melodies,” she recalls. “Within five minutes, I suddenly had a chorus for a new idea and thought, yes, this will make a nice little Instagram post!
After I posted it, Joachim messaged me asking if it was a new idea for CATC. He loved it and started working on it the very next day — he’s been behind most of the arrangement and production.”
At its heart, Carry You is about seeing a friend who’s struggling to find their place in the world — someone who feels out of step, as if they’re not quite where they’re meant to be.
The path to discovering oneself and the life one truly wants to live is rarely straight. It’s full of twists, obstacles, and detours — and navigating the jungle of societal expectations about what your life should look like can be overwhelming.
Carry You is a song about standing by the people you love through those times — about being there when the road feels uncertain, and reminding them they don’t have to walk it alone.

Carry You Lyrics:

Your soles worn thin
Like your twentysomething skin
Walking through the mud
Though the lining’s caving in, mmm

You’ve been to every crossroad
Searching for a sign

If you ever need a friend
To pick you up
And lead you home again
Let me know before you go around the bend
And I will carry you
Till the bitter end

It’s getting dark
You dont want the sun to set, set
But darling, that’s because
you haven’t seen the sunrise yet, yet

The ocean is a riddle
But swallows find their land

If you ever need a friend
To pick you up
And lead you home again
Let me know before you go around the bend
And I will carry you
Till the bitter end
